seminary graduation.

So... goodbye to seminary. If you're thinking "what the heck is this seminary that she keeps talking about?!?" then let me tell you something... seminary is a church class that high-school aged kids from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka Mormon) attend 5 days a week. Depending where you live, seminary times are different. Some places, like Utah, get release time seminary, which is during the school day. However, because there aren't many Mormon youth where I live, I had early-morning seminary.  It could have been even earlier, but the first three years of seminary started at 7 a.m. and this year was at 7:10. EVERY SINGLE DAY BEFORE SCHOOL. There are four years of seminary, so each year we study something different. My Freshman year was the Book of Mormon, Sophomore was the Doctrine and Covenants, Junior was Old Testament, and this year was the New Testament. I can honestly say that I probably read almost every single chapter in all of those books.
I wish I could say that I always had a great attitude... however, that's not true. Sometimes (especially this year during tennis season) I would get to bed at 2 or 3, then have to wake up for seminary. NOT GOOD I TELL YOU. But you know what? I'm glad I stuck with it. Seminary taught me a lot. From being able to eat breakfast/get ready in 12 minutes flat, to learning more about the scriptures and increasing my faith, I wouldn't trade it for the world. So here's a goodbye to all those early-morning scripture studies, scripture mastery games, donuts on fridays, and getting to be closer with the youth my age. I loved it!

Erica Michelle

seminary. school. scholarship. tennis.

you see that tittle right there? yep. that sums up my entire last few weeks. Get up around 6:45, go to seminary, then school, then tennis, then come home (if I'm lucky... usually I have things to do after tennis), do homework, do scholarships, go to bed between 12-3 a.m. depending on my amount of homework and which scholarships are due. Really, if I get to bed before midnight, I consider it going to bed VERY early. And I've come up with the best time-saving methods. Braiding my hair before bed, waking up and eating breakfast like it was a race, then brushing my teeth then changing. On the way to seminary I take out the braid, put some hair spray when I get out of my car at the church, then after seminary put on mascara. and wall-ah... hello to looking like a hobo!!

So, like I said... I've been doing tons and tons of scholarships. AANNDD yesterday I heard back from the very first scholarship

{drumroll please}

I GOT IT!!

I was sooo excited!

Second, seminary (as always) is so much fun. and once again, my seminary teacher is better than yours. the end.

we tied our selves together and went on an Easter Egg hunt! (then, the Easter eggs had scripture mastery's we had to look up... be jealous of my awesome seminary teacher, she is better than yours.) Sam blogged about it too.

then yesterday was the assembly. National Honor Society just concluded raising money for Pennies for Patients within our school... and because MHS rasied almost $850 we had teacher willing to do awesome things... dress up like Blanche from Streetcar Named Desire (that was my AP English teacher...), my sophomore Bio teacher who got a pie in the face thrown by his wife, and three coaches who agreed to do an obstacle course... that was hilarious. AANNDD I had to talk in front of the whole school, which was quite nerve-wracking, and is probably the reason I didn't join student council.

(picture from Gerke MHS FB page).

I then had a tennis match... which I lost in a tie breaker 5-7 :(

but, oh well!! the rest of the team won though, so it all worked out! After our match (mine took forever and a day) Kelsey, Me and my parents went to Qdoba, then Kelsey and I and some other friends went to the school play... let me tell ya, that was one of the funniest plays I've ever been to!

And last but not least... today is the first day of spring break!! So... that means that I'm off to clean, do homework, and complete some scholarships! yay for senior year *sarcasm*

Erica Michelle

random and all state.

well, here i am. a crazy crazy crazy crazy week. all i've been thinking about is all state re-auditions. seriously. i have been SOOOO nervous, i can't concentrate on anything else. it's not good, i tell you. the last week has made me an awful student, awful friend, awful everything. but... TOMORROW IS THE DAY.

ALL STATE CHOIR.

i am sooo excited, and nervous. mainly just nervous for the re-audtions. after that, it's all fun(: ahhhh oh my gosh. here it is!!!! unfortunatnly, mrs. leu isn't coming because her husband is really sick, so it's just my mom and i, which will still be wonderful!

in other news. i have two new food addictions. (well, maybe not new but once-again-realized)

veggie straws and yogurt covered raisins. (not together obviously)

also, over the last couple weeks, my two wonderful, amazing best friends turned 18! crazy. as of last week, we have been best friends for five years.
i seriously can't think about it without getting super sad. we're all leaving in 6 months.

here, have a picture of our cute little cars all lined up last friday when we were going to look at kels's ceramics:

and here is just some of kelsey's AMAZING pottery!!!

and here is a video of our scripture master friday in seminary.
the rules?
everyone sits in a circle at individual tables. sister knight taped scripture mastery references to everyone's table (other people could see it, but not the person sitting at the table). she begins reading a clue to a scripture mastery. once you look up the scripture, you get to start pelting the person who has that reference taped to the front of their desk with big marshmellows. you don't stop until they have their scriptures turned to the page(:
it's hilarious.
i wish i had a better video of it!

so, i know this is a random post, but i figured i needed to blog. so, there ya are! it's gonna get better when i quit stressing about all state!

sincerely,
erica

condensed randomness.

well, here's a really really condensed version of the last couple weeks(:

Kelsey's ceramics.

first of all, ya'll know kelsey? well, she's an AMAZING artist, kay? this is her work. all hers. look at the detail. i mean really, she's absolutely amazing!

anyways, my best friend is talented. the end.

Halloween.

we rock. i know(:

and, well sam and i have spent the last two days in seminary coloring this pictures. (yes, two days.). but it is awesome. like, professional coloring picture.

well, i went to CCD Honor choir on monday. and other than that, all i do with my life is school and extracurriculars, so not much else. my dad is staining my desk and drawers, and once that's done i have a few projects for my room, then i'll show everyone my fantastic new room(:

Erica Michelle

Pre-homecoming/spirit week.

so, i really don't know what else i could name this. really, it's the week before spirit week, which is technically the week before homecoming... ssoooo, yeah.

my week (thus far, since it is only friday)

monday.

labor day! (aka, no school)
my family went ATVing with a couple other families. well, families isn't the term. parents of the families. without their children... soooo, Erik and I were the only kids that were there, but it turned out quite fun(: Erik drove the whole way, which was quite good because, even though it was a GORGEOUS ride, i thought that i very well might die.

oh, and we went through this river... and had to pull out Erik's parents because they thought they flooded the engine... turns out, they accidentally hit the kill switch(:

Then... i worked Monday night... have i ever told you how much i love my job? cuz i do.

yeah, this post, about my work, said i would take pictures, so i snapped a few, here's my wonderful work(:

you see that little box office right there? yeah, i sold tickets there... i finally felt like an official movie theater worker!

tuesday.
in seminary we had to draw pictures of the Christmas story. this really demonstrates my sad lack of artistic ability. this was my picture:

i was pretty happy about it, actually... till i looked at kym's picture:

and that was when i felt like a failure.

AFTER SCHOOL...

sam and i went homecoming shoe shopping (for her, i already have my homecoming shoes remember?)

tthheenn i worked again that night. TTHHEENN i went and got ice cream with taylee (no pictures, sorry). and i cried a little bit, because i love that girl, and she's now at BYU-I...

wednesday.
went to school. blah. ttthheenn... sam and i went homecoming shopping again, this time for me.

but before shopping, we had an NHS meeting, and yes, i was the one who talked during a lot of it, and it was great(: scary, but great(:

tthheenn, we were leaving and kelly's van wouldn't start, so we jump started it (although that didn't work, so then a mechanic had to come...)

then i went to ice cream with james(:

homecoming...

you see, my dress is cream and lace and vintage like, AND i don't have a date so i really have no one to impress, therefore, i'm going all vintage(: red high heels, red lipstick, side up do, and i really really would love to find a red clutch, but there are none to be found in montrose :( which is quite sad.
but i got my make-up done by a guy at sephora... actucally, just my lipstick... and it took some intense scrubbing to get it off. it was awful, i think i'm sticking with the four dollar Target stuff...

thursday.

powderpuff football practice(: well, let's just say, i shouldn't consider football an option for a career, but it's fun(: and kelsey and i went and got ice cream after(:
(dang, i eat a lot of ice cream...)

friday.

Danielle is here(: with evan and caitlin and they're adorable(: well, homecoming is eight days away! which is exciting! anndd, yeah, i might do another post tomorrow depending on how exciting it is, soooo yep...
this is my niece Caitlin(: she's adorable!

LASTLY, this is Sam and I's deal to each other (yes, it's written on a napkin) so we can enjoy our senior homecoming week(:

here we go, powderpuff football, volley ball, and dodge ball... homecoming football game, and of course, the dance!

oh, i'm in love with a band called Imagine Dragons... that's about it!

Sincerely,
Erica Michelle
