festival of colors, dances, and other adventures.

The last two weeks in a list of 11...
1. Festival of Colors!
guess what? yesterday I crowd surfed. true story. granted, it was not by choice, but it still happened. Also, I got to spend the afternoon with all of these wonderful people and it was a blast:

{p.s. I completely stole this picture from Dylan. shout out to him for taking it}
If you have no idea what's going on, here's a video from the Holi fest a couple years ago:

I'm pretty sure that my throat may be permanently coated in colored chalk, but it was definitely worth it. I had heard that the Holi fest wasn't all it was talked up to be. lies. We were only planning to stay for one color throw and a few songs... and three color throws later we finally left! It was an afternoon well spent, that's for sure.

2. Wyld Lyfe [sic] dance {BYU has a lot of dances, in case you haven't noticed} It may have been the best one yet.

you know, just exploring the wild.
3. McDonald's until 3 a.m. it's a college thing.

here, have a shameless selfie with Erik Mika: {he's sitting by the window}

4. Relief Society/Hall pictures

There's a reason these girls are my favorite. plus, living in the same hall as them is perfection.

5. Summary of my past two weeks in a single picture {besides the previous activities, of course...}

introducing my snapchats {symbolizing 99% of my life}, my friends.
6. The worst news ever.

I have less than a month left at BYU. I've had so much fun and I am nowhere-near ready for it to end! Will it be nice to not always have a test to study for or a paper to write? yeah. But as much as I miss Colorado and my parents and summer {and having a job/income} and adventures with Kelsey, I don't want freshmen year to end! Especially since most of the people that have made this year so great are leaving on missions and I won't see them for 1.5/2 years.

Where the heck did this year go??

7. I may never tweet again.

Ryan is in town and so I'm spending the night up at my sister's house {and my mom is in town too!}. We spent part of last evening reading my tweets out loud and critiquing them. There is a very large chance that I will never tweet again, strictly out of the embarrassment that came with this said activity.

8. MHS is on spring break. BYU doesn't have a spring break. Just thought I'd tell you that little sad fact, in case you were wondering {or if you were complaining about your break being too short. cough cough}

9. Dorm pranks are fun, ladies & gentlemen.
{I hope recycling was involved in the clean up process...}

10. March Madness: 3rd place.

I'm sure this doesn't come as a surprise, but I know nothing about basketball. absolutely nothing. When I filled out my ward bracket, I literally just choose the higher seeded team every single time. Then I did eeny meeny miny mo {is that how you spell it?} for the top teams. and I'm in 3rd place. I'm probably not going to win, but I would like to believe that I'll have some great bragging rights considering I can't even tell you a single player on any of the teams besides BYU. let alone where the team is from. or anything about that team. or any of that teams previous games.

11. 80's night round two.

Remember the first 80s night we went to? It was even more fun the second time around! Here... because I don't feel like downloading the picture off my phone, go check out Kayla's blog post about it!

All-in-all, I would say the last few weeks have been some of the best!

-Erica

p.s. my phone likes to do this cute little thing where I don't get certain texts for a couple weeks. {I was actually really offended that I was mid-conversation and people would quit replying... nope. a couple nights ago, my phone died and when I turned it back on, I got about 10 texts people had sent me weeks ago} and it also won't let me listen to my voicemails.
...if you would like to donate to the "erica's phone is too ghetto" fund, please feel free.
sorry, I'm done complaining.

make a list.

Darci from Freedom of Excess tagged me in a "10 facts about me post"! Since I have nothing else to blog about... I may as well make a list!

1. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know that FCCLA was a major part of my high school. Well, on Sunday we had a little get together for our wonderful FCCLA advisor {who retired this year} and her husband! I was so blessed to get to know this wonderful lady and role model.

2. I LOVE The Great Gatsby. Don't ask me why, because I'm not exactly sure. But I've read it 6 times this summer, and I simply adore it. and I cry every time.

3. I'm freaking out about college. That's all I really have to say about it. I used to think  I was so ready, and now I just... feel too young. and I'm scared of failing my classes.

4. Seafood. "Erica, what's your favorite food?" "Anything that remotely qualifies as sea food, basically" The End.

5. I used to say that I loved cities. and that's very true, I still really do! But I also have this overwhelming love of stargazing {and you haven't seen stars until you go camping in the middle of no where} and this true adoration for small towns where everyone knows everyone. So, I suppose you could say I just love life!

6. I'm a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

7. I love airplanes, and traveling, and going to places I've never been, and walking the streets of big cities where no one knows who I am. It's my favorite.

8. Speaking of that, I'll be in Boston in 2 days!

9. I'm the youngest kid. I have some amazing role models for siblings and in-laws.

10. This is my grandma, she's one of my favorite people in the entire world. I've never heard her say ANYTHING negative about someone. never. she is literally the nicest woman I know and I'm so grateful I get to call her my grandma!

I'm supposed to nominate more bloggers, but let's face it-- I'm just too lazy. So.. I nominate everyone! If you do a "10 things about me" post, leave a link in the comments below and I'd love to get to know each and every one of you!

Sincerely,
Erica Michelle

10 things//update.

So much has happened, I mean really, it has been a great start to my summer (: Some stuff I may be blogging about later...  but here are a few quick updates-

1. this sweet little graduation present came in the mail a few days ago:
yep. 15 inch MacBook Pro. I love it. That's an understatement actually. (fyi, I did have to pay for a part of it... I'm not that spoiled! Thank you graduation money!)

2. because of #1... this is literally what I've done with my life:
(no, not take pictures of myself). I just lay on my bed, headphones in (yep, two door cinema club still), and read blogs, pinterest/tumblr, and then read more blogs. literally. that's it.

3. Work. work. work. work. work.
That's all I feel like I'm going to be doing this summer. I got a second job... and a third job! (a couple weeks ago, but I forgot to tell ya'll's about it)

4. youtube and pandora. what would I do without it??

5. I moved my sewing machine back into my room. next week is gonna be full of thrift shopping and pinterest craft days with this lovely lady (:
*please note that we went thrift shopping before it was cool.*

6. Katie and I have been hanging out the last few days... and it's been lots and lots and lots and lots of fun, just enjoying summer, watching stars {I saw my first shooting star!}, laughing hysterically at Pirates of the Caribbean {the second one}, and so on. great fun I tell you.

7. Evan and Caitlin are here for a few days while their parents are in San Diego (lucky ducks!). gosh, my nephew and niece are cuter than yours. no offense of course, just speaking the truth!

8. I'm going to go get my hair cut next week. and I'm so sad because it's finally growing out, but I want to get rid of all the dead ends, then let it grow all summer before college. ohhhh the problems of being a girl.

9. next week is our ward youth temple trip! I am soooo stinkin excited about it. it's been forever since I've been on a temple trip, but I already have the days off of work, so no one is stopping me this time! (:

10. life is great right now. I mean, no more homework, instead- sleeping in, hanging out with friends/adorable nephew and niece, laughing, inside jokes, star gazing, working, reading, blogging, and sewing. what else could I possibly ask for??

I hope your week is going just as fantastically as mine!

Sincerely,
Erica Michelle

10 things.

well... here we go. a quick update on what's going on.

1. first and foremost:
I have 23 days until I graduate, 18 days until I'm done with school, and 13 days of school left.
i. cannot. wait.

2. today was my last home tennis match. ever. definitely bittersweet, but I'll worry about that more next week after regionals is over.

3. orchestra is wonderful this semester (:  we are playing the funnest songs! les mis, pirates of the carribean, and mission impossible........ be jealous

4. everyday I realize more and more how much I'm going to miss my best friends. on tuesday kelsey and I... how you sayyyy... took a field trip to starbucks. (;

vanilla bean frappuccino (yepp... no coffee for me)? delicious.

5. I am in love with Granite Flats on BYUTV. yes, it may be corny, but it is sooo dang cute!

6. tomorrow night Kelsey, Sam, and Kym are coming for a girls movie night. (kelly is touring her future college!) Just a night with these beautiful ladies...
the only thing I will miss about high school is these girls.

7. still addicted to Two Door Cinema Club.

8. my grades are slowly but surely getting better!! now, all that stands between me and graduation are a few (million) AP history test retakes, some intense stats homework and a huge project, a crapload of english, some useless american government, 4 more scholarships, and graduation practice (yes, MHS practices graduation... true story)

bring it on.

9. I finally sent out my graduation announcements... it's finally feeling real!

10. I don't think I've ever blogged about this... but last summer one of Zach's roomates and I talked quite a bit (a.k.a. every single day) and then last fall he left on his mission to Brazil. Well... he made me promise to write him (which I never really did, so...) and  it turns out that I am a crappy writer. (heck, I forget to write my own brother!). Well... finally, 7 months later, I wrote him a letter and Sam accompanied me to mail it (: oh, and sam blogged about our adventure too. her blog is adorbs too... just in case you need another beautiful mormon teenage girl's life to read about (:
(please ignore what i look like in this picture...)

anywho, that's it. now off to write an essay, study for an apush test, and maybe get some sleep! (the earliest I've gone to bed all week was 12:30, my average was about 2 a.m. however. no surprise, but I'm tired, and I look like it too.)

Sincerely,
Erica Michelle

10 things.

1. Last night I had a milkshake-making party (pictures seen above)... it was a success!

2. I officially have a roommate for freshmen year at BYU... her name is Kayla and I couldn't be more excited!!! After I joined the incoming freshmen page on BYU, she messaged me, we got to know more about eachother, and then we decided we would be the best roommates ever!

3. I'm so busy, it's not even funny.

4. I got a pair of yoga pants... ok, actually two pairs, and they are the best invention in the entire world. check that off my to-do list.

5. My best friend got an iphone! (Remember this girl?) #teamapple

6. Monday I was up until 4 a.m. (not exaggerating, ask my mom) working on the Marvin Gill Scholarship. Please? (needless to say, I missed seiminary and photography and choir on Tuesday). If I got that scholarship everything would be perfect. I will absolutely-one-hundred-percent-positively be able to do a full semester study abroad. Please Please Please??

7. It is 66 days until the last minute of high school (forget about counting down till graduation... I just want the last day of school)

8. I really really really want to read "How to Be a Hepburn in a Hilton World" but I'm not letting myself until I have an A in all of my classes. Stupid AP US History. My kind of motivation for school... not letting myself read books. It's killing me.

9. You know my FCCLA project with Caitlin, Sam, and Katie? Yeah... about that... It's going... interestingly.

10. THAT IS RIGHT FOLKS... this girl is #2 Singles on the MHS Tennis Team!!! (Hello getting dominated all season...) Finally... a singles spot! aannnnddd tennis team captain!!

Just my quite little check-in!

Sincerely,
Erica Michelle
